He has quickly fallen in love with Chattanooga’s accessible outdoors scene but more so loves the copious family-friendly activities. On weekends you are likely to find Jon, his wife, daughter, and son exploring the city. Like many of Collier Construction’s employees, Jons relationship with building came at a very young age. Growing up, his dad was a general contractor, and Jon started working on construction sites from age 12. He learned straight from his father how to build a house from the ground up, everything from framing to finishing. He would later expand his practical knowledge of building by studying business management with focus on supply chain management at Central Washington University. After a years as a mechanical contractor on large commercial projects Jon finds the dynamism of Collier Construction very appealing. Rather than being pigeon-holed into a single facet of a project, Jon now oversees the entire scope of a build. It’s his high degree of organization and attention to detail that make him uniquely qualified to manage community projects like Collier’s Reside North. She first came to Chattanooga from Joelton, TN, to begin her education in Interior Design at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. In 2013 she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design and began work as a showroom designer at Daltile. From there she spent time drafting evacuation plans at Intersign Corporation before she found her home here at Collier Construction where she serves as our Design Consultant and Project Start Coordinator. On a daily basis Sherayah is in close contact with our homeowners and vendors to create timeless interiors that uniquely reflect the client’s personality and needs. At the time, he worked his way up the ranks before making a switch away from his family's Florida-based construction company to try his hand in sales and marketing. "But I always enjoyed the challenge of it," he says of construction work. "It's rewarding to put a job together and watch it grow." Ernie eventually found his way to Chattanooga (and back into the construction field) through what was supposed to be a temporary visit to the Scenic City. Now, years later, he proudly calls it home. "I was only ever going to stay for a year," he laughs. "I was just looking for something different to do with my life." And in Chattanooga, Ernie found it, both in terms of a successful career in an industry he loves and a woman to share it with: the love of his life, Noelle. Back home in Delaware, Daniel got his start cleaning up construction job sites while still in high school. It wasn’t long before he was working with framing crews and picking up the trade as fast as his foreman could task him. Fast forward to university and he’s studying architectural engineering and construction management. In a fortunate turn for Collier Construction, Daniel eventually decided to move south to be near his siblings living in Nashville. As a project estimator, Daniel is constantly expanding his knowledge and skillset to build better budgets. His time as a warranty manager and superintendent for Collier are invaluable and give him a better understanding of what goes into construction. You will also find him working hand and hand with the designer and superintendents to make sure they have everything they need out in the field day to day. ”One thing about me is I am not a huge talker. I am a good listener. I work hard to organize information people give me in meetings and emails and turn it into clear concise budgets and documents.” When Daniel is not working you’ll find him spending time with his lovely wife, Gianna, and his son James, you’ll find him in his garage making stuff for their home, or you may even see him in Coolidge Park playing spikeball. On top of spending years in the construction industry getting his hands dirty with framing and roofing, he most recently served a ten-year stint as the CFO for Habitat for Humanity. Rick decided to join the Collier Construction team based on Ethan’s reputation of integrity and leadership. “I know enough about Ethan to know that he is not in this for the dollar. It’s the minutia. Ethan is constantly looking ahead in the consumer’s life. Way down the line they will be glad they went with a Collier home. He’s made a company centered around anticipating the needs of the customer 10 years from now.” Experience in the field and knowing the language of the industry are only part of Rick’s success as a financial officer. Being a father of 8, has allowed him to bring an invaluable trait of flexibility to Collier Construction. “You got be flexible with a family like mine… I am accustomed to different people from all different parts of an organization needing things from me simultaneously. I’ve got to be able to able to shift gears at any moment to deal with a staff issue, POS systems, construction departments, you name it. It’s about understanding and meeting the needs of your team (or family).” Looking forward, Rick’s major goal is to bring Collier’s concept of “thoughtful living” to the realm of accounting.
